Nov. 14--The Minnesota Timberwolves looked to bounce back from a loss the Phoenix Suns Monday evening as it took on the hosting Utah Jazz. The Timberwolves were led by Karl-Anthony Towns with 24 points and 13 rebounds on the way to a 109-98 victory.
Minnesota took an early lead as it held the Jazz to 14 points in the first quarter while dropping in 33.
After building an 88-65 lead after three quarters, the Timberwolves allowed the Jazz to get back into the game with 33 points in the fourth quarter. It was too little, too late for the host as the Timberwolves flipped in 21 tallies to close out the game.
Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson also collected double-doubles for Minnesota in the victory. Butler scored 21 points and had 10 assists, while Gibson had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jeff Teague (22) and Andrew Wiggins (11) were also in double figures in scoring.
Minnesota was able to limit the damage that former Timberwolves Ricky Rubio did as the guard scored three points and had two assists in 22 minutes. Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 24 points in the game.
The Timberwolves move to 8-5 and will take on rival San Antonio Wednesday at 7 p.m.
