An 18-year-old Drake University student has been arrested for posting threats of gun violence on a social media website. Michael Zachary Crisp has been charged with first-degree harassment.

Drake University first-year Michael Crisp was arrested and charged with first-degree harassment after posting threatening messages on Yik Yak Thursday afternoon. Crisp posted bond after his arrest at approximately 3 a.m. Friday morning by the Des Moines Police Department.

Porter's been leading an effort to get the City of Des Moines to designate the downtown YMCA building as a landmark. That would make tax credits available for preservation, something Porter thinks the city should do with the structure.

The owner of Bauder Pharmacy in Des Moines has long denied distributing pain killers illegally out of his Ingersoll pharmacy. Mark Graziano, owner of Bauder, has a plea deal with federal prosecutors that will shorten his time behind bars and possibly allow the pharmacy to stay open.
